@7Technical letters:
Hi,
I have Directory Opus 4 and am having trouble with disks which are
DMS'd I have a collection of demos which are in DMS, How do I get
Opus to unarchive these disks, or can't it do it?
@6A>F Reply:
I have had a few people asking me how to do this, it is quite simple
really, first, make sure you have the DMS program in your C directory.
If you don't have it, then check the C directory of any coverdisks
you might have lying around, they sometimes have it in their C dir.
O.K, load up Dir Opus. Select C (config) Now select Buttons. #3 More>>>

Select a free blank block. Where it says name, just type in the name
you want to call your little util, I just call mine CDMS, you call
it what you like, apart from Fred.
Now, select NEW entry and the word command will appear just to the
left of the magnifying glass. Click on Command until it changes to:
AmigaDos.
Just to the right of the magnifying glass icon you will see a rectangular
box for you to insert text into, click inside the box so that a small
block appears ready to type in your dos command.
Now type the following:
DMS Write ?f? Df0:
@2 LAST MINUTE NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: I had to replace the #3More>>>

option with ?? because the keys used clash with the DMC text commands.
SORRY, APOLOGIES FROM THE TEAM FOR THIS. SEE OUR README FILE FOR
THE COMMAND, IF YOU NEED IT.
@6
Just press return or enter and then on Okay (bottom left) then click
on Okay again (bottom rightish). Now, just click on save which is the
second icon up on the column.
That's it. You should see an icon button at the bottom of the screen,
just click on the DMS file you wish to decompact and make sure you
have a blank disk handy to insert in DF0:
That's it. Bye.

@7Dear Paul of A.F:-
I have an A600 and I want to run Commodore 64 games and spectrum games
on it. Can this be done, I've been told that it can. How?
Secondly, I am having an argument with my mate at the pub, he says
he has a C64 and can load Spectrum and Amstrad games straight into it,
is this true or is he just talking bullshit?
John, Moreton.
@6AF Reply:
Hi John, the easiest way to get Spectrum stuff running on your
Miggy is to erm, sell it and buy a C64 and Spectrum....Just kidding!
No, of course your Amiga is so good it can emulate a Spectrum & 64
no probs. #3More>>>
@6
Just look through a few P.D libraries for a program known as an
`emulator' which is basically a program which makes the Amiga pretend to
be a Spectrum or C64, these disks usually have a load of Spectrum/C64
games already on, but if you have C64 games of your own then some
emulators will allow you to link up a tape deck to an Amiga sound sampler
and then save the games to disk.
I haven't actually tried this out yet, but I would imagine it to be
simple, providing you have a sampler.
On the subject of your second question, I never had a C64, Amstrad or
Spectrum, but I'll put money on saying that your mate is talking
complete, total, absolute, Molgrat style... BULLSHIT.
So, I think he should buy you a pint for that silly mistake.
